Keeping up with the newest technology can be very cost-prohibitive, especially for residents in developing nations. Looking to provide affordable resources with those markets in mind, non-profit One Laptop Per Child has designed one of the world’s only solar-powered tablets, the XO 3.0, which it will unveil today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.

The tablet has the versatility critical for utility in nations such as Uruguay and Nicaragua where it will be made available. Its features include a Pixel Qi sunlight-readable display and support for both Android and Linux.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but One Laptop Per Child intends to ship 75,000 units to South America beginning in March. To date, the organization has shipped more than 2.4 million devices to kids in 42 countries.
