Roku Shrinks Its Media Box Into The New 'Streaming Stick'

Coming later this year.

Roku has had some success with its small, inexpensive set-top boxes that bring popular web content, such as Netflix and Pandora, to your TV. In 2012 though, the company is going even smaller. Today it announcd the Streaming Stick, which fits all of its streaming goodness into a dongle the size of a thumb drive.

The Streaming Stick uses the new MHV port to connect to your HDTV, which are still something of a rarity. Next gen TVs are likely to feature them, though, and with a launch date as far off as this fall, the Streaming Stick is giving manufacturers plenty of time to catch up.

Roku hasn't announced a price for the device just yet, but says it will be in the $50-$100 range.
