For the short time massively-multiplayer roleplaying games have existed, there has been a surprising amount of evolution in the genre's design. New genres and concepts have been injected into the space with varying success, but few have tackled them the same way Bioware has with Star Wars: The Old Republic. Focusing first and foremost on delivering an intense personal experience with the world players will be investing countless hours in, they have built a new breed of MMO that's more accessible than most before it without completely abandoning the tropes that made them successful in the first place.

Like any Bioware game, the heart of the SWTOR experience is its story. Unlike other Bioware games though, that story is generated in a growing and dynamic world full of other players who are each crafting their own tales. As you traipse around a galaxy full of Jedi and Bounty Hunters, you get the sense that the choices you make are only a piece within a larger saga.
