Dallas Teen Accidentally Deported to Columbia Is Pregnant and Trapped in Foreign Prison

So many things wrong with this sentence.

None

The result of a terrifying series of accidents, 14-year-old Jakadrien Turner has found herself pregnant and trapped in a Colombian jail.

Lorene Turner had been searching for her granddaughter Jakadrien since the fall of 2010, when she ran away from home, and recently found her on Facebook; she was apparently working as a maid in Bogota, Columbia.

This is where the story gets considerably worse. WFAA Dallas reports that Jakadrien was arrested for shoplifting in Houston in April of 2011, and gave a fake name when she was brought to the station, a name which unfortunately belonged to illegal Colombian immigrant who had several warrants out for her arrest. Despite her fingerprints being inconclusive regarding her identity, Jakadrien was deported to Columbia by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where she was given a work card and released.

The child's grandmother, in conjunction with Dallas police have since contacted American authorities, but Jakadrien remains in a "locked detention facility"  and the Colombian government "won't release her", despite the request of her family and the U.S. Embassy.

Additionally, the Dallas Morning New adds that Jakadrien is currently pregnant and speaks no Spanish.

ICE says that it takes the allegations "very seriously", but also adds that the agency has seen many "cases of individuals providing inaccurate information regarding who they are and their immigration status for ulterior motives."

We're sure that many more details from this complex case have yet to be revealed and the plot will soon thicken considerably, but if the not-so-subtle finger-pointing at Jakadrien proves incorrect, ICE is looking at some steep charges for deporting an American teenager to a third-world-country when she doesn't speak the language when they had no proof of her identity.
