The joint couldn't hold Thomas Francis Kelley, who fled Donovan State Prison near San Diego on a fire truck on New Year's Day. The 51-year-old Kelley had two years left on his parole violation sentence for drunk driving and car theft and must've viewed his firefighting duty assignment as the perfect opportunity to bail.

Authorities found the truck east of San Diego and are still on the hunt for Kelley, whose obvious New Year's Resolution was freedom-by any means necessary. Not as epic as the events of The Shawshank Redemption, but hilarious nonetheless.
