Just months after Woody Allen made his triumphant return to high-quality comedy with Midnight in Paris, the venerable director has already announced his next project, Nero Fiddled, according to Cinema Blend. Although he may be best known for his New York-based films, Nero Fiddled was shot in Rome over the summer, which continues Allen's recent globetrotting trend.

Looking to capitalize on the success of Midnight in Paris, Sony Pictures Classics released this statement on the film, "More laughs in this one than you can imagine. We know it's a bit premature, but thank you Woody and company, for granting us the perfect summer comedy of 2012. Keep 'em coming."

Allen won't only be directing the movie, but he will also be returning as an actor as well. This is something Allen did in almost all of his early films, but that has slowed down recently. The movie will also star Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin, Greta Gerwig, Penelope Cruz, and Roberto Benigni.

At 76-years-old, and with over 40 movies under his belt, Allen's career has seen a resurgence over the past few years, and we have high hopes that Nero Fiddled will turn into another classic.
