It's always wise to keep your surroundings in mind when you're having a loud phone conversation, and this is true especially if you're a politician. Clearly, someone didn't tell this to Wisconsin Republican representative Jim Sensenbrenner, who was overheard at Reagan National Airport in Virginia talking "loudly" on his cell phone about an incident that occured at a Episcopal church auction three weeks ago, in which he had a few choice words about Michelle Obama's weight. More specifically, he allegedly said, "she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself."
So, basically, Sensenbrenner just said that Michelle Obama has a big butt. And this is a guy who is known for his love of cheetos. Oh hell no.
A democratic operative overheard the conversation and immediately tipped off Capitol Hill gossip site FishbowlDC. From the original post, "the operative said it sounded like he was on the phone with a staffer who was telling him that someone in the media would likely write about his comments (concerning something) to which he said it was heresy and just liberal media bias to print gossip. But 'he stands by his remarks.'"
Now that it's out, Sensenbrenner is reportedly going to apologize to the first lady for his remarks. Perhaps afterwards, he should take a look in the mirror? Just sayin'.
