Activision has released a teaser video for the Amazing Spider-Man trailer that's set to debut during Saturday's Spike TV Video Game Awards, as well as a shot of concept art and a temporary box image. Why anyone would give one hoot about a temporary box art image is beyond us, but we've posted it and the concept art below anyway.

Spidey will once again be free-roaming around an approximation of Manhattan, saving citizens and defeating familiar baddies along the way, as always. The game takes place directly after the events of the movie, acting as a sort of epilogue, though Activision assures us that it's "an all-new storyline" and not simply a wrap-up of the movie. They also mention a new "Web Rush" mechanic that will allow Peter Parker to pull off moves not possible in any of the previous games.

Don't forget to check out Complex's coverage of the VGAs this saturday at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT. We'll be there reporting everything live. In the meantime, what do you think about the teaser? Are you happy the series is returning to its free-roaming roots? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter of Facebook.
