25. Cisco Kills Flip Camcorder

Date: April 12, 2011

Cisco’s pocket-sized shooter made it simple for on-the-go videographers to capture, edit, and upload videos. So how could such an awesome gadget fail during a time period where fan-made videos have become the new wave of entertainment? Cisco failed to innovate. Well, the Flip was unable to capture still shots, offered limited storage with no additional memory options (microSD slot), and lacked a wireless connection to share content via social media sites, which was outrageous considering Cisco is best known as a networking company. On top of that, consumers discovered they could get the same results and all of the above by investing in a premium smartphone. It's a shame too because WWE U.S. Champ Zack Ryder became a overnight sensation using the portable camcorder. Woo, Woo, Woo.
