A rookie LAPD officer (Benjamin McKenzie) who comes from money learns the ropes from cops who have addictions and all kinds of personal and professional problems. This gritty drama was exactly what we needed when The Shield wrapped. So, really, thanks for canceling it, NBC.

Despite renewing the show for a second season, and even shooting six episodes, NBC canceled it before they aired because moronic execs thought it was too dark (and expensive) for the 9 p.m. prime-time slot. Meanwhile they've got Jay Leno sucking down ratings five nights a week. Nice work, peacock!
