A day before Adele most likely wins the 2012 Grammy for Album of The Year in February despite 21’s utter banality, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will also posthumously award a Special Merit Grammy to Steve Jobs, along with Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gil Scott-Heron, and Diana Ross.
With the iPod innovating the way music was consumed and experienced, and later, iTunes paving the way for new business models for music, it comes as no surprise that Jobs will receive the honor, though its timing seems a bit late.
