Amazon's Kindle Fire always smelled like a hit, but the new low cost tablet could be succeeding beyond anyone's wildest dreams. In a new report, Goldman Sachs estimates that the Fire may sell up to 6 million units in its first quarter on the market.

Released by Amazon in November, the Fire has been a hot item this holiday season thanks to its $199 price tag, ease of use and focus on a two-pronged reading and streaming experience. In the same estimate, Goldman puts the Fire's first year sales at between 15.5 and 20.5 million.

Amazon has been notoriously secretive about sales numbers in the past, so we'd be surprised to hear a specific confirmation from the company itself any time soon.
