Apparently PS Vita users will not be limited to a single PSN account per device, despite the reports that Sony confirmed earlier this week. According to Wired, it's the PSV memory cards, not the machine, that will be synced to a single account. Users will be able switch memory cards, and by extension PSN accounts, at will. The PS Vita will use a new type of proprietary memory card designed specifically for the device.
"Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita,” Says Sony associate brand manager Crystal MacKenzie. “So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset.”
While it's a pain, it is also good to know that the memory cards can also be switched, even if doing so requires a factory reset.
Now if only we didn't need to buy that memory card...
The PS Vita is scheduled to hit western stores February 22nd
