With a recent slew of new trailers for upcoming PS Vita games comes this one for Wipeout 2048, a companion game to the popular downloadable PS3 title Wipeout HD. One of the highlights is the "cross play" between the two platforms and eight-person multiplayer. For a laugh, you can take a picture of yourself before a race and have it upload to the other players' screens when you win. We're going to take pictures of our asses instead, but it's the same idea.

The trailer also shows off the new (and optional) controls, whereby touching the back of the Vita accelerates, tapping the screen activates shields or items, and you can steer using the six-axis motion controls. Thankfully, you can also use the control stick and normal buttons, and some will no doubt appreciate having the choice.

Does any of that sound useful to you, or have you yet to be sold on the wonders of the Vita? Leave your thoughts in the comments or on Twitter or Facebook.
