Microsoft recently debuted "Xbox Companion"— a nifty mobile app for Windows Phone users that gives you partial control of your console from your phone. But in a less publicized rollout, the company also released a new toy for iPhone users.

"My Xbox Live," available for free in the app store now, won't let you turn your Xbox on and off, but it will give you access to various Xbox Live functions, including messaging your friends, making changes to your avatar and following news and achievements.

While the new app isn't quite what Windows Phone users enjoy, it's a nice surprise to see Microsoft playing well with others on this one.
