Kindle Fire Irons Out Kinks With First Update

Amazon answers critics.

None

While reviews for the Kindle Fire have been generally positive, Amazon has had to deal with the increasing backlash about the device’s lagginess. Thus, the retailer has moved to ensure folks waking up on Christmas morning to a Kindle Fire under the tree will get past their initial disappointment, releasing a free software update via download or WiFi.

“This update enhances fluidity and performance [and] improves touch navigation responsiveness,” wrote Amazon in a press release. Other features also include a password lock for WiFi access.
