Four demos of retail 3DS releases have hit the system's eShop today in Japan, marking the first time a Nintendo system has offered what the 360 and PS3 have been doing for half a decade. Though we're not ones to look a gift Yoshi in the mouth, we have to say it's about time.

We're not sure when similar demos will be released in the US, though we assume it'll be closer to the games' release dates; Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy are all slated to hit our shores next year.
