In an obvious PR attempt to repair his image of “villain” (though Albert Pujols’ wife might’ve just single-handedly done just that), LeBron has created an ad for Sheets Energy Strips—a company he partially owns—to spearhead a crowdsourcing ad contest via Facebook.

Beginning today, Sheets—a brand of tongue-dissolvable energy strips—is asking fans to create ads for the brand over the next 45 days, with promises of airing the best one, as determined by LeBron, on TV and in theaters next year.

The campaign, “Take A Pitch,” revolves around folks downing a strip before important activities and the spot above directed by and starring LeBron, features the basketball star as a smiling, there-when-you-need-him caffeine boost. All in all, pretty cheesy and desperate.
