It took a while, but the Android store has really come into its own. Google announced yesterday that over ten billion apps have been downloaded, prompting them to launch a special sale—for ten days, ten different apps a day will go on sale for only ten cents.
The games currently on sale are Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Fieldrunners HD, Great Little War Game, Fruit Ninja, Reckless Racing, Flick Golf, NFL Rivals and, most notably, Minecraft: Pocket Edition. If you're interested in any of these, we wouldn't wait to pick them up, since it's unclear if each app will remain at ten cents for the entire ten-day duration of the promotion.
If anyone was ever going to give Apple a run for its money in this market, our bet was on Google. Kudos to them.
