This season of Dexter was undoubtedly the Showtime series' worst yet. Over the past couple of years, the serial killer drama has progressively dumbed itself down into becoming a show with the mind of a low-aiming CBS procedural trapped inside the body of a forward-thinking, envelope-pushing cable network series. And this would be been fine, if not disappointing, only this year the folks behind Dexter even failed to entertain on that level.

With two years left to go before Michael C. Hall slices his last cheek, the once-great series has plenty of time left to pull itself out of this rut. While last night sixth season finale's game-changing climax was long overdue, it's still a step in the right direction, one that can hopefully be the jumping-off point the series needs to fully get back on the right track. Now that the momentum is on the show's side, here are 10 Ways That Dexter Can Get Its Swag Back.

I don't know -- I'm pretty sure this season was ten times better than season five. Julia Styles was on another level of obnoxious.

I'm pretty sure "dark passenger" has always referred to Dexter's homicidal tendencies and not to (arguable good guy) Harry.

This season was definitely a lot deeper than most people take it for. It had a lot of philosophical background.
