Well the numbers are finally in and, according to Coming Soon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -Part 1 brought in a staggering $30.25 million during its midnight release. This number surpasses Twilight: Eclipse's midnight total of $30 million just last year. Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is now tracking to make over $140 million for the entire weekend, which would match the total of 2009's New Moon.
While there is no doubt that these numbers are impressive, the Twilight movies tend to be extremely front-loaded, meaning that they run out of steam after the first weekend. Still, they bring in some serious bank whenever they're released, and $30.25 million at midnight is certainly nothing to ignore. And remember, this is happening despite the movie getting absolutely savaged by critics.
