In exactly one year, America will once again vote for the President of the United States. On top of that, the noteworthy Iowa Special Election takes place tomorrow. Yup, politics are in the air right now, and not just for people who watch C-SPAN every night. Being the type of guys with a penchant for finding the beauty in everything, we can't help but look at female world leaders in a non-professional light sometimes. We respect their careers in office, even if we don't agree with their agenda, but we're not pundits, bro. It's only right that we prepare for the next year's whirlwind of political coverage with an extensive look at The 50 Hottest Women in Politics. Vote or die!

Really, Complex.com, really? “The 50 Hottest Women in Politics” list? Your sexist coverage of women in politics is really reprehensible. For a magazine that claims to cater to the “style-makers and trend-spreaders through its uniquely credible and authentic viewpoint,” we really could not be more disappointed. Using sexist and inappropriate language to describe female politicians is never stylish and certainly is not a trend that should ever catch on. While we understand that Complex magazine is not exactly known for political journalism, the language used in this article is both blatantly sexist and uses terms emblematic of severe misogyny like “slutty,” “big-boobed,” and “uber babe” to describe female candidates. This type of language isn’t good for anyone, especially not for the girlfriends, wives, and daughters who see language like this sitting on the coffee table at home and will never want to run for elected office, knowing that this is how successful women get treated. Grow up, Complex mag, and maybe your readers will actually start to set some (positive) trends.

Yes, this isn't professional. So don't do it. Stick to models and women who are posing, not women who are trying to do their job.

Seriously? I hate this. I hate everything about it. One of the reasons, in study after study, why women do not run for office is exactly this kind of adolescent scrutiny. You should have thrown in some pictures of their kids just to make the whole lame exercise even more humiliating and demeaning. Jerks.

Seriously? Hot is not what America needs from its leaders. This is just demeaning and so many of us are so sick of it. If you have trouble understanding why women are insulted - imagine how you would feel if your mom, sister, daughter or girlfriend were trying to accomplish something meaningful - but the only thing anyone could focus on was whether they looked "hot" while they tried. You'd feel bad for them - or I hope you would. And you'd defend them from idiots. See what we're talking about? Find something smarter if you're looking to drive your web numbers up.
