Jimmy Fallon & Questlove Apologize For Michele Bachmann Subliminal Shot!

Your tax dollars at work here, America.

Ah, the trappings of political fame! After catching Jimmy Fallon and The Legendary Roots Crew delivering a subtle message during Michele Bachmann's Late Night appearance, both Jimmy and Questlove are apologizing for their actions. If you missed it, the house band made their thoughts about the Republican presidential candidate crystal clear when they played Fishbone's "Lyin' Ass Bitch" sans lyrics.

It was light-hearted enough of a tune to put a smile on Bachmann's face without knowing the contents of the song. Last night, the late night comedian submitted his apology over Twitter, so that we all know how sympathetic he is for taking pot shots at her. "I'm honored that @MicheleBachmann was on our show yesterday and I'm so sorry about the intro mess. I really hope she comes back," he tweeted. "Actually it was really fun interview. She helped me with my Minnesota accent."

Questlove, drummer for The Roots, also expressed his disdain for pulling the prank. "The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision," he said in a statement via ABC on Tuesday. "The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention." Do you think this latest stunt will help Michele Bachmann in the polls?
