Frank Miller Calls #OccupyWallStreet Protesters "Basement-Dwelling Gamers"

Sticks and stones may break our bones, but names won't stop the revolution from being digitized.

With the New York City courts ruling against the #OccupyWallStreet movement and their habitation of Zuccotti Park (see video above), comic book legend Frank Miller has added another interesting twist to this compelling story. The man best known for his dark, film noir-style comic book stories and graphic novels has condemned the protest, while simultaneously insulting the gaming community, by characterizing the protesters as an ugly gamer stereotype.

On November 7, he wrote a blog post titled "Anarchy," and in it says:

"The 'Occupy' movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. "Occupy" is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do noting but harm America."

Miller equates the #OccupyWallStreet members as "an ugly fashion statement," full of spoiled iPhone wielding brats who should cease to get in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves. Feeling that their collective angst is pointed in the wrong direction, Mr. Sin City concludes his rant with a final volley that stereotypes gamers. "In the name of decency, go home to your parents, you losers. Go back to your mommas' basements and play with your Lords of Warcraft. Or better yet, enlist for the real thing. Maybe our military could whip some of you into shape."

Yeah, um, Frank? First, it's World of Warcraft, and secondly — didn't you also never serve our illustrious armed forces? Kettle meet pot, pot meet kettle.
