Industry analysts have forecasted Apple to become the world’s number one PC manufacturer once the iPad 3 hits next year, knocking HP from the top spot and giving the Cupertino company the numbers to go along with its recognized cultural dominance.
With traditional PC sales suffering, the tablet market has flourished—alongside all Apple products—as consumers have increasingly replaced desktop and laptop solutions for the sleeker devices that, for the most part, do everything a PC can.
Interestingly enough, Steve Jobs, who, lest you forget, invented personal computing, never considered the iPad a PC, though his competitors—specifically Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer—have long held contrasting ideologies.
