In what sounds like an episode of Desperate Housewives from hell (or, even more chillingly, the French horror film Inside)...

A 33-year-old Wisconsin woman is suspected of murder after police say that she removed a pregnant woman's child from her womb "by force."

The victim, 23-year-old Maritza Ramirez-Cruz, was due to give birth on October 16th. Authorities say the suspect, who is a mother of three herself, forcibly removed the child from Ramirez-Cruz and then called a local hospital to say that she herself had just given birth and that her child wasn't breathing. The baby was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival. After an autopsy was performed, authorities returned to the suspect's home where they found Martinez-Cruz's body in the basement.

The suspect, whose name hasn't been released, was pretending to be pregnant for months according to friends and family - even going so far as to pose for pictures with her hand on her stomach. "She'd push her belly out," one neighbor divulged, adding that she'd never questioned whether or not the suspect was pregnant.

The suspect was arrested, but hasn't yet been charged with the murder.
