Besides commercials and Time Warner of course, the answer will usually be the remote—always either lost or out of batteries. But of course, in this Siri age of voice-activated everything, Jack naturally invents a TV set with voice control built-in, rendering a remote useless. Hilarity ensues when the inevitable occurs: the set doesn’t know if to listen to the viewer or characters on TV.
How real-life inventions will solve this conundrum is anyone’s guess.
