According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cillian Murphy and Tim Roth have signed on to star in Broken, based on the novel by Daniel Clay. Murphy and Roth will star alongside Rory Kinnear (Quantum of Solace), Robert Emms (War Horse), and Bill Milner (X-Men: First Class). The movie will be developed by BBC Films, and veteran theater director Rufus Norris will helm the project that features a script by Mark O'Rowe.

Broken revolves around a young girl (played by Eloise Laurence) who witnesses a violent crime and soon finds her life spiraling out of control. While the book may have flown under the radar, the combination of Roth and Murphy is more than enough to instantly add some intrigue to this movie.

It's been a long time since Roth had a great film role to really sink his teeth into, and Murphy has been relegated to supporting roles in his more recent work. Hopefully, Broken will allow these two to cut loose and truly make this film transcend the source material.
