A Texas man has been charged with felony injury to a child after he beat his 11-year-old daughter and then gave her a knife and a gun and told her to commit suicide.
The girl, whose name has not been released, is now living with her mother. She told police that her father had given her a gun she thought was loaded along with a knife, and told her to use them to kill herself.
29-year-old Alejandro Galvan III confessed to police that he gave his daughter a gun, saying that he was "frustrated," but that the gun had not been loaded.
Neighbors told police that they believe Galvan had been abusing his daughter for a while.
