Even though Occupy Wall Street protesters weren’t evicted from Zuccotti Park this morning, there were still fireworks.

It got particularly ugly when an NYPD scooter ran over the leg of a legal observer for the National Lawyers Guild, allegedly breaking it. After he kicked the scooter over in an attempt to free himself, he was arrested.

Oh wait, there’s more.

One officer punched HIV-positive ex-dancer Felix Rivera-Pitre in the face so hard that it knocked his earring out. Rivera-Pitre recalls seeing his blood-coated earring on the ground, and advises the cop to get tested. He was not arrested.

The New York Post reports that roughly the same amount of people were arrested during the early morning march. Shit is wicked on these mean streets, but the movement continues.
