Australian gaming magazine, PC Powerplay, has revealed its cover for an upcoming issue featuring Mass Effect 3 and it looks like they have the scoop that there will be mulitplayer action:

"MULTIPLAYER COMES TO MASS EFFECT 3: FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOUR FRIENDS AS THE GALAXY GOES TO WAR!"

And if you're still not convinced, check out what they say on their website about the article:

"That’s right - Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer! We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy."

Now, we can all agree that you can play Mass Effect 3 with your buddies, but multiplayer can mean a lot of things.  Hopefully, they stick to the "fight alongside" part and don't try and anything silly, because we just don't see Commander Shepard doing any capture the flag nonsense.  In any case, if they allow friends to drop into your game and control one of your squadmates, then we're all in for an unforgettable experience come March.
