47-year-old Wesley Warren Jr.'s story is as peculiar as it is poignant: he has a 100 pound scrotum, and the surgery he needs to fix his condition will cost nearly a million dollars.
Yesterday, The Las Vegas Review shared Warren's story in jarring detail, describing Warren's oversized scrotum, which he needs to rest on a milk-crate, as "a huge watermelon encased in a compression bandage".
We've all cracked our share of jokes about "elephantiasis", but there is nothing funny about the real-deal medial condition Warren is suffering from. In addition to the physical discomfort Warren's unbelievable disease causes him, he also battles depression and is unable to have sexual relations, and cannot urinate without spraying his surroundings.
Warren says during a fitful night's sleep, he accidentally crushed his testicles with his own leg. I never felt such pain," he said. "It was like a shooting pain through my entire body. When it stopped, it was like a huge tractor trailer went off the top of me. I think it ruined my lymph nodes down there."
When Warren woke up the next day, he was in extreme pain and his scrotum had swelled to "the size of a soccer ball", and has grown increasingly larger over the last three years. And the worst part? Doctor's have estimated the cost of the experimental surgery he needs to fix his condition will cost upwards of a million dollars, a sum Warren will never amass considering he has been forced into disability due to his disease.
Warren, who has become desperate to just return to normalcy, recently went on The Howard Stern Show to share his story. He put aside his pride, imploring listeners to send donations to help his cause to benefitballsack@yahoo.com, a move that took serious humility, and yeah, major balls.
We hope Warren gets the help he needs.
