Quentin Tarantino has been slowly, deliberately and (for fans) painstakingly casting his upcoming freed slave turned fierce bounty hunter flick, Django Unchained. With recent announcements confirming Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Johnson, Kurt Russell and (maybe even) Joseph Gordon-Levitt on-board with Tarantino's latest project, we thought we couldn't be more amped for the 2012 film, but we've been proven wrong.

Tarantino has chosen knockout Kerry Washington to play Broomhilda, the slave wife of Django (Jamie Foxx) who is caught in the brutal clutches of plantantion owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Tarantino had originally hoped to cast an unknown, but after a country-wide search that failed to yield a diamond in the rough, he went for gem-all-along Washington.

Which, in our books, is clearly good call. Have you seen this woman lately? If your answer is "not nearly enough" (as it should be) be sure to check out her upcoming project alongside Eddie Murphy, A Thousand Words, also set to debut in 2012.
