Whether or not you're a fan of 24, the acclaimed TV show is currently being adapted for the big screen. If you recalled how things ended for our hero Jack Bauer when the Fox series wrapped up, a movie is necessary, if only to give fans closure for the character they've followed for eight seasons. So, it should make stans happy to hear that the guy who played Bauer says that a film is soon on the way.

Speaking at MIPCOM 2011 at the international launch of his new Tim Kring/Fox sci-fi drama Touch, Kiefer Sutherland revealed that screenwriter Billy Ray has all but completed the script for 24: The Movie. "We are coming very close to having a finished script. That's been the most difficult thing," he confessed to reporters who were on hand. "We have worked very long and hard over the past two years on a screenplay, but it was actually much harder to take this idea that was told in 24 hours and condense it into a two-hour movie."

Sutherland, who can currently be seen alongside Kirsten Dunst in Lars von Trier's apocalypticMelancholia stated that the movie is still on track. But we have to ask: Is anyone still awaiting to watch the race? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
