Similar to the likes of Formspring, Friend.ly asks of its users to engage in cross-network Q&As, with the hope of forging connections. Amongst its competitors, it’s now the one that has won the Facebook sweepstakes, with the social network acquiring it for an undisclosed sum.
In a blog post, the team behind the two-year-old site wrote, “We’re excited about this because we feel the spirit of friend.ly aligns well with Facebook’s vision, and we’re thrilled to be joining such an innovative company.” Making the deal even sweeter for the startup, it will continue to run as its own separate entity, while most likely being integrated into FB’s new Timeline feature.
