Farrelly Brothers Hope to Reunite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels For "Dumb and Dumber 2"

Farrelly Brothers Hope to Reunite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels For "Dumb and Dumber 2"

Jim Carrey is still the man. He may be getting older, but as evidenced by his semi-mock attempt to scoop up Emma Stone, he's not any less outlandishly hilarious. Dude has still got his comedy swagger in tact, which is why we are far more than mildly enthused that the seminal work of our still-favorite comedian may get a sequel.

According to Deadline, the Farrelly brothers (Kingpin, Shallow Hal, There's Something About Mary) have just wrapped up The Three Stooges and have set their sights on resurrecting 1994's Dumb and Dumber. Unlike the sad prequel that was Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, which Farrelly's and Carrey had nothing to do with, if Dumb and Dumber 2 goes forward, it will be with the Farrellys' directing and Carrey on board.

Writers Sean Anders and John Morris (Sex DriveI Hate You Dad) have been hired to pen the script, and Carrey has hinted that he would be down to play Lloyd Christmas again, so it looks like Dumb and Dumber numero dos is riding on Jeff Daniels. No pressure, Jeff, no pressure...

because i live in the metro detroit area radio stations sometimes tend to get local celebrities to come on the show and do Q and A's. this past year i happened to catch "Drew and MIke" 101.1 The WRIF which is a morning talk show. They had Jeff Daniels on the show because he grew up in the area and was trying to promote his traveling band. Of course Dumb and Dumber was brought into the conversations. Jeff was then asked if he would ever do Dumb and Dumber 2 and said he would love to do it the problem was getting Jim carry on board, he said he approached the Farley brothers a few years ago but they could not convince Jim to get on board. So if this article is accurate then the movie should happen i guess.

I read somewhere that he didn't like his experiences working on Ace Ventura 2, so that's why I don't think he's down for doing any more sequels. I hope he reconsiders this one, though.
