Dr. Cornel West and the other 18 people arrested along with him in D.C. over the weekend-including local singer Raheem DeVaughn-will not face charges. After they all appeared in court yesterday afternoon, The Office of the U.S. Attorney announced that they would all be released. Following their release, West and DeVaughn hit up Ben’s Chili Bowl for their first post-jail meal.
In an interview with MTV, DeVaughn revealed that even though he missed the dedication to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, West invited him to join his movement. DeVaughn also added that police treated everyone with respect during the arrest.
