Yesterday, as Apple stores across the country closed for two hours midday, employees inside observed the company memorial being held for Steve Jobs live at Apple's Cupertino, Ca. headquarters. The 90-minute event featured performances from Coldplay, Norah Jones, and Randy Newman, artists with ties to Apple and Jobs personally.

Coldplay, who performed “Fix You” and “Yellow,” once had a visit from Jobs backstage at a show, Jones performed at Apple press events in the past, and Newman has scored numerous Pixar films, most famously composing and singing “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” from Toy Story.
