Labor Day Weekend in Brooklyn was marred by violence. Equally senseless is this video, which depicts the arrests of City Councilman Jumaane Williams (D-Brooklyn) and Kirsten John Foy, Public Advocate de Blasio's Community Affairs Directo.
In the video, Williams and Foy are arrested by a gang of NY cops after trying to exit the parade through a closed-off area near the Brooklyn Museum (200 Eastern Parkway). Foy is the first person to be thrown to the ground in the video (0:13).
Foy and Williams stand by their statement that they were given permission to take the shortcut. The two were detained and released without any charges being filed. An investigation of the officers' conduct is pending.
