Two A-list songstresses in the form of Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton join forces in the musical comedy Joyful Noise. The video tells the soul diva and the country singer's story of an unlikely partnership between two strong-minded women when they're forced to work together to save a small town gospel choir from being shut down. Aside from highlighting Latifah and Parton's on-screen feud, Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan play the domineering duo's daughter and grandson, respectively.

The trailer nearly reveals the entire plot, which doesn't bode well for those who are fans of Tyler Perry-esque subject matter. Equally damning are all the secular songs being sung throughout the clip. They didn't even have this many hip-hop joints in Sister Act 2. Written and directed by Todd Graff (The Beautician and the Beast), Joyful Noise is slated to open in theaters on January 13, 2013. Is anyone excited to see Dolly Parton's first film role since 1992's Straight Talk? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
