Three Prohibition-Era Cocktails to Drink During the Boardwalk Empire Premiere

This Sunday, September 25, at 9 p.m. the second season of HBO's award-winning gangster epic Boardwalk Empire premieres. Even if you only have a passing familiarity with the show, you probably know that booze is a key element here (we can understand; bottles of bourbon have played supporting roles in some of our finest moments as people).

To really get into character for the premiere, Complex recommends you whip up some of these prohibition-era cocktails. Drink responsibly. And don't get shot by a dude missing part of his face.

The Real McCoy

1.50 parts Canadian Club 6 Year Old
4 parts Club Soda

Pour ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Stir.

Belle Femme

1.50 parts Canadian Club 6 Year Old
1.50 parts Dubonnet Rouge
Orange peel for garnish

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a small wheel of orange peel.

The Boss

1 part Harvey's Bristol Cream
2 parts Canadian Club Classic 12
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Maraschino cherry for garnish

Fill a lowball glass with ice and pour in booze. Stir and garnish with maraschino cherry.
