Last week was a sad week for kids everywhere: On Tuesday, September 13th, Gumby, the popular green Claymation character, turned himself over to authorities in the wake of a failed 7-Eleven robbery. (No report on whether he spat out, "I'm Gumby, dammit!" at the end of his confession.)

However, we were all able to rest easy after word got out that the guy behind the funniest flubbed hold-up of the year wasn't the bendy one all, but a 19-year-old named Jacob Kiss. (Kinda weird if you think about it. There are so many cartoons out there; Gumby feels like a pretty dated choice.) Whether he was a fan of SNL standout Eddie Murphy's might be up for debate, but what isn't is the growing trend of weird wrong-doers slipping into costume to handle their dirty work. From throwback cartoons to good guys gone bad, allow us to present The 13 Most Ridiculous Real-Life Costumed Criminals.
