Frances Bay, who is best known for her fight with Jerry Seinfeld over a loaf of marble rye and played Adam Sandler's grandmother in Happy Gilmore has died. She was 92. The Canadian actor's career began in the 1930s, where she was a radio actress before World War II, but later married and became a housewife. She returned to acting in the 1970s playing Fonzie's (Henry Winkler) Grandma Nussbaum on Happy Days and kindly older ladies in The Jeffersons, Who's The Boss, and The Dukes of Hazzard.
From there, she went on to star in over 100 television shows and films, and over the next 23 years Bay's brand of comedic timing would hit cult status proportions after her Seinfeld appearance. Most recently, she had made herself cozy in the ABC comedy, The Middle, as Aunt Ginny. Despite being struck by a car in 2002 and had part of her right leg amputated, the 2008 recipient of a star on Canada's Walk of Fame was never deterred from the spotlight.
