Remakes, as you all should know by now, continue to be all the rage in Hollywood. Adding onto the bland formula of rehashing our childhood memories is director Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 surf-heist film Point Break. To paraphrase the end of that movie: Turns out there can be only... two? The update of Point Break is in the very early stages, but the new version of the film will be set in the world of "international extreme sports." Warner Bros. will release the new movie, which starred Keanu Reevesas a California cop who goes undercover to inflitrate Patrick Swayze's gang of bank-robbing surfers.

Alcon Entertainment, best known for releasing The Blind Side and prepping a spin-off of Blade Runner, is not the only one who's caught the remake fever. In addition to Point Break, a Red Dawn remake has been finished and is awaiting a release date; a Ghost musical is set to open on Broadway next year; and plans are in the works for a remake of Dirty Dancing. There you have it, cinephiles. On the eve of the film's 20th anniversary and everything, there's no word on whether Keanu will return as Johnny Utah, but you can never say never in Hollywood, right?
