Battlefield 3 won numerous awards at E3 and Gamescom, but at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference yesterday, Electronic Arts CFO Eric Brown announced 1.25 million pre-orders and counting. "The game has come off of a very successful Gamescom[in Germany]," Brown said. "As of two weeks ago it won game of the show." While it's not necessarily a news flash to say that us gamers are looking forward to Battlefield 3, it is interesting to see how many are already interested in getting the shooter.

Industry watchers and tastemakers are really anticipating the hotly contested war between Battlefield 3 and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Who do you guys have your money on? We'll find out soon enough as both games hit shelves on October 25th and November 8th, 2011, respectively.
