"Ghostbusters" Will Return To Theaters This October!

Who you gonna call to have join you at the movies?!

None

Mass hysteria returns to theaters this October as Sony Pictures announced on Thursday that they are bringing back the original Ghostbusters movie. Get ready to see Ecto-1's triumphant return on Oct. 13, Oct. 20, and Oct 27 for a limited engagement only. Unlike the recently re-released Lion King movie, Ghostbusters won't be in 3D, but that isn't stopping the studio heads from hoping it can take in the same type of $40 million gross Lion King has managed since being reintroduced.

Those who follow Ghostbusters on Facebook and Twitter or visit Ghostbusters.com will be the first to know which of the 500 theaters will feature the ectoplasm excitement. Originally released in 1984, most of the gang is hoping this re-release will get Bill Murray off his ass to make Ghostbusters 3 and pass the proton packs onto a younger generation.

The film was directed and produced by Ivan Reitman, stars Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and the aforementioned Bill Murray. If you ain't afraid of no ghosts, you can expect to see what goes bump in the night in 2K digital with 5.1 surround sound just in time for the Halloween holiday.
