Video: New "Batman: Year One" Clip Looks Like It Jumped Right Off The Comic Book Page

While people may be foaming at the mouth in anticipation of the release of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros.' latest DC animated film, Batman: Year One, should be more than enough to hold anxious fans over until next summer. Based on Frank Miller's 1987 re-imagining of the Caped Crusader's origin, Year One depicts the early years of both Batman and James Gordon as they journey to Gotham in order to clean up the city and form their legendary partnership.

This latest clip from the film is taken directly from the comics, and includes both accurate dialogue and a fantastic reproduction of Dave Mazzucchelli's artwork from the original series. The legendary Alex Rocco can be heard as the crime boss Carmine Falcone, and Southland star Ben McKenzie actually does a decent Batman without sounding like a 70-year-old chain-smoker; we're looking at you, Christian Bale. 

Batman: Year One will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, On Demand, and for download on October 18. There's also an opportunity to download-for-purchase in an early window starting October 11 through iTunes, Xbox Live, Zune, VUDU HD Movies and Video Unlimited on the PlayStation Network & Sony Entertainment Network.
