Here on the east coast we've experienced a hurricane, tornado, and an earthquake (sorta, kinda) all within the span of three months. And we had no idea how to act. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) wants you to know there's soon to be an app for that.
The government agency today announced plans to release its Disaster Preparedness app which will assist people in preparing for an empending natural emergency and help them recover after one has hit their neighborhood. The app, which will launch first for Apple's iPhone and BlackBerry devices, will also give users a checklist of emergency supplies and a list of family meet-up areas.
FEMA says the app will launch in "the coming weeks."
