You expect the cries of excruciating pain and anguish to permeate the air while playing Diablo III, but today the fans are making those same sounds. Blizzard announced today that while they were hoping for a late 2011 launch of the highly-anticipated sequel to Diablo II, they are now targeting an early 2012 release instead. This announcement is not surprising given Blizzard's release-it-when-its-finished mantra, but it's still disappointing nonetheless. It's not all bad news, however, as the Diablo III beta test will run longer than originally planned and they will allow more people a chance to play test the game before launch. Make sure you've opted in on your battle.net account to be considered for a beta invitation.
