Bad news for Wolverine fanboys, as Deadline reports that Fox is pushing the start date back for the sequel to spring 2012. It's just the latest setback for a film that has seen more than its share of turmoil in its short existence. The Wolverine was scheduled to begin shooting in February, but the studio seems to have decided to wait until star Hugh Jackman finishes shooting Les Miserables

The other reason Fox is on hold lies with the unpredicatable Japanese weather. So, as such, it is being reported that the shoot may now take place in Japan and Canada in equal fashion. Director Darren Aronofsky was the first sign that Wolverine had problems unsheathing its claws when he abruptly dropped out of the project back in March. He was replaced by Knight and Day director James Mangold.

Fox has no confirmed release date for The Wolverine, but how long will we have to wait until Jackman can put the claws back on? The Aussie actor's next appearance will be in Real Steel, due for release on October 7, 2011.
